In 2015, students at Kaligi Ranganathan Montford Matriculation HS School, Tamil Nadu, believed that learning cannot happen in fear. They studied the psychological impact of corporal punishment and designed healthy alternates to punishment like a consequence wheel to choose one's own disciplinary action, an appreciation box, a confession box, and red and yellow cards. 500 teachers vowed to not use corporal punishment, as a consequence of this campaign.
